Because you put your business on Yelp trusting that they will be legitimate, then you find that people you have done great work for have left 5 Star Reviews- and Yelp has hidden them!
The mysterious algorithm that Yelp itself has no control over! I mean, it would be laughable if they weren’t ruining businesses with this nonsense. Take this case for example: a salesperson commented to the effect that, " It’s the algorithm that does it, we have nothing to do with it.” Ok, mention it to the higher-ups so they fix it. higher-ups
Great, the mysterious algorithm that Yelp itself has no control over!
What happens next? Yelp “hides” the reviews from public site. They aren’t actually removed from the client’s page,, they are just hidden away somewhere, in a corner. Maybe you could find them if you went on a scavenger hunt!
Yelp should take a lesson from Google My Business and show the reviews, instead of hiding them. Yelp has been accused of hiding the reviews as a sort of, well, for lack of a better term, an apparent “extortion plot” to get businesses to buy advertising. There is the implication, and some people will just say it outright, that Yelp will “unhide”your great reviews, if you buy advertising.

Long Island SEO: Case Study

Recently I created a new page on my website, https://idesignyours.com/long-island-seo . The goal was to rank high in google searches so as to attract more business. Some of the problems I ran into right off the bat were code from elementor page builder and a youtube video I placed in the slider. Apparently these both played a role in google refusing to index the site.
After fixing the code and removing the youtube video from the header/ slider area, I was finally able to get google to index this page. It first showed up on page 5, position #49 for the keyword Long Island SEO on 7/31/20. I am doing a live case study on Linkedin to show what I am doing to improve/ tweak the search engine optimization on the page so that it will rank higher, hopefully on page 1 of Google.
Right now the site has no indexed backlinks, according to ahrefs. The url rating for this page is 7, which is very low. I hope to improve this score by adding valuable backlinks from sources like strikingly.
One of the things I worked on was my gtmetrix score for the page. Gtmetrix is a website testing tool which measures various metrics on your site and shows you where you can improve.

Website Loading Speed And How It Affects Search Position
The other day I watched a video by the pre-eminent SEO Leader, Brian Dean. The gist of the video was that he ran a test to see if improving his website speed score on Google Page Speed would change the position of one of his posts in the searches.
According to him, it did not. I guess Brian is basically saying that the speed of your website is not the most important ranking factor that Google considers when deciding where to place your website in the searches.
So, where does this leave us, at this point, when for so long we had the notion that Google put so much weight on website loading speed?
Well, I’m not going to rule speed out yet as a ranking factor. It’s possible that Professor Dean didn’t wait long enough to check his results (a week, according to him), OR, his web page ranked so high to begin with because of its domain authority that speed did not have that big of an effect. Who knows? I’m not changing my opinion just yet.
I will, however, put a greater focus on what I believe are two of the other most important ranking factors, Domain Authority and Site Popularity.
Site Popularity is a term used byiDesignYours for how many people visited your site, how long they stayed on it, and if they liked it enough to share it on social media.
